You are going to spend most of your Christmas holiday evenings in your living room entertaining guests or sharing hearty moments with family. Make this place as pleasant as you can. Here are some decoration ideas for the living rooms.

  • Place a lovely Christmas tree in the living room with lots of lights, goodies and ornaments in it. You can choose from a large variety of tree and decorate it your way. An unusual way to do your Christmas tree is by choosing a white faux-snow tree; you can add in it many different colors or a single theme color like blue to make the tree pop.
  • Soft toys are not just for kids! Place a few of them in your living room to make the place look innocent and charming. Try some white bears with red bows that instantly tell the onlooker it's Christmas.
  • Use stockings artistically in your living room. Stuff them up with cotton or fiber, and place them near your Christmas tree. Or, if you have kids in the house, you could stuff them up with goodies and little gifts.
  • Put beautiful wreaths and flowers in the living room. Use a combination of natural and artificial flowers – fresh ones for Christmas evening and the rest that you can re use to decorate your house even after Christmas.
  • Place a few Christmas balls or balloons on the floor near the Christmas tree.

Decorating your outdoors is quite as important as sprucing your interiors for Christmas. A small decorative sledge, loads of lights, and an outdoor Christmas tree in your yard will make it a picturesque festival week for your family and your guests.

  • Cast magic with amazingly set lighting outside your house. Accentuate the best features of your exteriors with suitably colored lights. Put a line of bulbs on your plants if you have any in the yard. One useful tip is to check all bulbs before putting them up, so that you can mend the faulty ones beforehand. In case you are short of time or are uncomfortable stringing lights, you can also outsource the chore to a professional team for a fee.
  • A wreath on the door is a must-have element of Christmas decoration. It looks traditional and inviting, perfectly complementing the spirit of the merry festival. You can choose organic or artificial materials depending on your preference and budget.
  • Put up a few pieces of inflatable decoration in your yard; but do not go overboard with them. For best effects, use them to complement the theme and main decorative elements instead of decorating the entire yard with inflatable ornaments alone.
  • Hang a big light ball somewhere in the balcony or porch wherever it is most conspicuous. You can also fill up the area with smaller hanging balls to complement the main one.
